The Path to Heaven: Steps to Follow Christ

Life is a journey filled with choices, challenges, and opportunities for growth. For those seeking eternal life in heaven, the Bible provides a clear roadmap to follow. This path is not always easy, but it is deeply rewarding, leading to a closer relationship with God and ultimate salvation. In this blog, we will explore the steps necessary to align our lives with Christ's teachings and secure our place in His kingdom.

1. Repent and Renew Your Mind

The journey to heaven begins with repentance. Turn away from sin, be ready to change, and follow Christ by renewing your mind. Embrace a life in fellowship with God, as exemplified by Enoch, who "lived in fellowship with God, and God took him away" (Genesis 5:23).

2. Cut Off Everything That Leads to Sin

In Mark 9:43-47, Jesus teaches us to remove anything that causes us to sin: “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go into hell.” Reflect on your life and identify what leads you astray — be it your phone, friends, TV, or even close relationships. Eliminate these stumbling blocks to walk closer to God.

3. Become Like a Child

The world has burdened many with customs and ideologies that distance them from God. Jesus says, “I assure you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it” (Mark 10:15). Purge worldly influences and approach God with the purity, trust, and humility of a child.

4. Do Not Cling to Worldly Riches

Wealth itself is not sinful, but an excessive attachment to it can hinder your spiritual journey. Jesus reminds us in Mark 10:23 that “it will be hard for rich people to enter the kingdom of heaven.” Remember, life on Earth is temporary; prioritize eternal treasures over earthly ones.

5. Fear God Alone

Jesus urges us to fear only God: “Fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in hell” (Matthew 10:28). Reverence for God ensures a life lived in alignment with His will, free from the fear of worldly consequences.

6. Walk Through the Narrow Door

In Luke 13:24, Jesus warns, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” The path to eternal life is not easy, but it is worth every sacrifice and effort.

Conclusion

Walking the path to heaven requires a deliberate effort to live in fellowship with God, remove sin, embrace childlike faith, hold loosely to worldly possessions, fear God alone, and choose the narrow road. Let these steps guide you as you seek eternal life in Christ. May the Lord’s grace and wisdom lead you on this journey.

The Two Faces of Desire: Understanding the Lust of the Eyes and the Lust of the Flesh

In a world saturated with instant gratification, relentless advertising, and a culture of consumption, understanding the nature of human desire has never been more urgent. Ancient wisdom speaks directly into this modern struggle. One striking example comes from 1 John 2:16: “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.” In this blog, we will explore two of these temptations—the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh —not only in their biblical context but also in how they manifest in everyday life. These aren’t just religious ideas; they are timeless truths that speak to human psychology, ethics, and spiritual well-being. What is Lust? A Clarifying Definition Before diving into the specific types, it's important to clarify what “lust” actually means in this context. The Greek word used in the New Testament is epithumia , which refers to an intense or inordinate craving or ...

Lust Is Your Enemy – Don’t Make Peace With It

Lust is not your friend. Lust is your enemy. It creeps into your heart quietly, like a shadow in the dark, whispering lies, making promises it can’t keep. It presents itself as harmless, maybe even natural, but in the end, it comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. One of the greatest deceptions many people fall into is treating lust like a companion instead of an adversary. We excuse it. We make room for it. We say, “It’s not that serious,” or “At least I’m not acting on it.” But here’s the truth: lust tolerated becomes lust empowered. And lust empowered will lead you down a path of corruption, shame, and spiritual death. The Bible is clear— “Make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires” (Romans 13:14). We are not to pamper our sin. We are not to feed it snacks and hope it won’t bite us. Lust does not play fair. It grows in secret and strikes in the open. If you don’t deal with it, it will deal with you. Don’t Give the Devil a Foothold Paul writes in Ephesians 4:27, “...
